"FLIRTING WITH FINANCE" is a non-fiction ‘how-to’ financial guide which combines romance and finance to explain financial concepts in the perspective of real life scenarios. It’s a fun, easy-to-read book that enables people to learn important financial concepts, and offers a unique and entertaining solution to the boredom factor behind finance. Instead of cramming facts and laws into the text, we broke up the endless information into a delightful story which contains all sorts of useful, humorous and even fascinating information to make the task of balancing your financial life diverting and even downright fun. First, last, and always, it is informative.
"FLIRTING WITH FINANCE" is told from the prospective of a woman and follows the patterns of life: romance, marriage, having children, buying real estate, planning for college – not necessarily in that order. It gives readers advice on how to maneuver in the "investment game". It will explain the difference between a stock and a bond, how to start and manage retirement accounts, real estate investments and pointers on how to choose money managers.
Gwendolyn Beck, financial guru, has been in the financial industry for over fourteen years, and began on the bond trading floor at Credit Suisse First Boston working in Taxable Fixed Income (TFI) on the U.S. Government Securities desk. After leaving the trading floor, she moved to the more genteel environment of personal financial planning at Morgan Stanley. She has multiple NASD and SEC licenses including the Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, Series 31, and has a Florida Life Insurance & Variable Annuity License, and a Florida Real Estate License.
She successfully completed Morgan Stanley’s Graduate School series on Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Women and Investing, Lump Sum Distribution and Retirement Planning, and Asset Allocation: Strategic Wealth Building.
“Women are naturals at finance once they understand it’s just like learning a different language. And, having spoken with hundreds of women throughout my career, I know there is a great need for a non-boring and easy to understand financial book."
